Origin of our Sea Silk
Franciska Brilli emigrated from the former Yugoslavia to Germany in the 1960s. There, she worked as a tour guide and stewardess for a luxury tourism company Litz, traveling across the Mediterranean and North Africa. As a gesture of gratitude, the locals often gifted her sea silk, which she gradually began to process over the years
Authenticity of the material
The material found in Franciska Brilli's attic was sent by her grandson Ivica for testing to Mrs. Margaret Ordonez at the Textile University in New York, the leading expert on antique and rare textiles in the USA. Laboratory testing confirmed that it was indeed sea silk.
